(Information regarding poinsettias added Monday)
More than 200 area residents enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner at the Elks lodge on Christmas Day.
The Jefferson Fareway donated hams and the Jefferson HyVee donated turkeys. Rounding out the menu were dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole and dinner rolls. Jefferson Does Drove 196 donated pumpkin pies for the dinner.
After the meal, diners were invited to stay for bingo. The Iowa State University student horticulture club donated poinsettias that decorated the lodge and were then used as bingo prizes. Carole Custer facilitated getting the poinsettias to Jefferson.
